What does it fund?

Research studies focused on the state’s goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2045:

Study 1: Identify strategies to significantly reduce transportation-related fossil fuel demand and emissions.

Study 2: Identify strategies to strategically and responsibly manage the decline of transportation-related fossil fuel supply.

Who is eligible for funds?

The UC Davis Institute of Transportation Studies received funding for Study 1. Researchers at UC Santa Barbara received funding for Study 2.

How does this program provide benefits to priority populations?

Both studies center equity as one of the guiding principles and recommend actions that would benefit disadvantage communities.

How do I access funds?

CalEPA contracted with two University of California research groups.
