What does it fund?
Various programs and projects that support fuels reduction and other CAL FIRE operations. These include but are not limited to:
The Mobile Equipment Management Program: purchase, repair and maintenance of mobile equipment used for resource protection, fire and emergency response. Equipment can include chippers, track loaders, emergency crew transports, trailers, backhoes, fire engines, and trucks.
The Vegetation Management Program: equipment purchases for prescribed fire operations in CAL FIRE Units, archaeological resource compliance contracts, costs that facilitate vegetation management and fuels reduction projects, and various promotion of prescribed fire such as through pilot projects and cultural burning awareness training.
