Grants to fire departments within High Hazard Severity Zones to protect communities from wildfires by pre-positioning emergency services crews and equipment during red flag events.

Who is eligible for funds?

Local fire agencies within High Hazard Severity Zones, Cal OES State Fire and Rescue, operational area fire and rescue coordinators.

How do I access funds?

Operational areas submit mobilization and resource order sheets to Cal OES for approval.

The idea of a "fire season" is no longer true in California. The season is never-ending. More than 2,100 fires have already burned across the state since January 1, surpassing last year's total at this time.
